The Begining

Like all of you, I got into this business because.....

Exactly, not sure how I got into this business. All I do know is I can't get out. What an amazing ride it has been. I have had a blast being in this industry and I hope all of you are having some sort of fun. Whether you like your restaurant or can't stand it remember one thing....'when your right, your not always right'. Write that down!

My first job as a restaurant worker was in a little place called 'The Silver Diner'. I was not an exciting kid, didn't have many real friends, so I thought I would fill my time with a job. So I went to the Diner, filled out an application and BAM, the new nighttime soda jerk. WHAT?!

Exactly, this quick paced position would lead to my first lesson in what many people in this industry will call ' the waiter's walk'.....Yes this particular pain goes by many different names; Swamp Ass, Alien Ass, Crotch Rot, and my personal favorite Chapped Monkey Ass. Well lets just say this was my introduction to the restaurant world.

I have meet many cool people along my journey through life, none of them I still talk to. Its funny how this industry can teach you to be so cold to the ones you spend the most time with. I regret not being a little more mature, but my stories will tell otherwise. Don't get me wrong I would not change a moment in my life to be a 'DAY WALKER' (9 to 5'er). Just wish I held onto a certain number of people.

Well if anyone is listening let me know, I would love to tell my story, and read about someone else's love/hate relationship we call work. Thank for reading.

Check in Time

Hello, and welcome to my blog. Like all of you in this crazy world we call work I want to reach out and share as many stories as possible. If you have been in this industry longer than a week you know how ridiculous this job is. This job we call serving is a thing of beauty. Either you have it or you will go down in the weeds trying. Thank you for viewing this blog and have fun posting anything you want. We all have something to share.
